Complementary Consulting. For Successful Design Thinking with Broad Acceptance.
Design Thinking is teamwork. As a consultant, I will accompany you in the planning and implementation of your project.
Formally, one could assume process consulting. Many colleagues limit themselves to this, i.e. they guide the team through the project but do not provide any technical input.
If questions arise about the content, process consultants pass the ball back to their clients, who then have to obtain the relevant information, for example through research.
In my projects, I see that often just a word explanation or a thought trigger is enough. I will be happy to provide you with this, especially if we are moving in my metiers-digital transformation and sustainability.
Purists in the above sense reject that because they do not see expert advice as their task (or do not have the necessary knowledge).
I, on the other hand, do complementary consulting, which combines the best of both worlds(specialist consulting and process consulting) in your interest.
This consulting approach is ideal for Design Thinking projects in particular.
The three criteria for successful consulting.
In consulting, solutions are developed for complex issues. In order for this to be goal-oriented, it is done within a specified time frame: Even with the best business model, success suffers if the competitor is the first to open up markets.
Another decisive factor for success is the feasibility and – closely related to this – the acceptance of the solution by the customer. The best solution according to objective criteria is of little use if it is not implemented.
Of course, the solution must be goal-oriented. This is if the solution is effective and efficient. Effective means that the desired effect is actually achieved. Efficient means that no more resources are required than are (objectively) necessary.
My Guarantee of Success
Whenever I submit a proposal, I check the feasibility of the project. I only offer projects that I am convinced will be successful.
Success from the beginning.
Thoughtful planning is a prerequisite for a successful project. As described in the success criteria, it is essential to define the time frame in which the question is to be answered.
The specifications may vary:
- A deadline to meet
- A consulting budget and thus a maximum number of person-days
- A combination of both
I use appropriate planning techniques to get the most out of the given conditions for my clients.
It is important for me to understand your goals and assumed constraints before submitting a bid. This is the only way I can check whether the problem solution is possible under the given frame conditions.
In the offer, I then also outline the procedure and specify the consulting assignment. I base my work on the ISO 20700 standard.
